St. Elmo's Spring 2005 11 x 14 inches oil on masonite private collection of Mr and Mrs Jim and Judy Patterson Artist Comments: St. Elmo's, Colorado, in the Collegiate Range of the Rocky Mountains, is a remnant of the Gold Rush and is what one might call a modern day ghost town. It still has current residents. The town is a reasonably popular tourist town, but does not play up the ghost town image the way many of the old mining towns do. It's general store does however have plush animals of the chipmunks and hummingbirds that the town is known for. This is one of two paintings of the town, the other is Ghost Town |
